My wife met me at Woodcot, whither Mr. Howard accompanied me to see my son John, who had been much brought up among Mr. Howard's children at Arundel House, till, for fear of their perverting him in the Catholic religion, I was forced to take him home.

To London, to take leave of the Duke and Duchess of Ormond, going then into Ireland with an extraordinary retinue.
