Virginia Woolf

Sara is the real difficulty: I can’t get her into the main stream, yet she is essential. A very difficult problem; this transition business. And the burden of something that I won’t call propaganda. I have a horror of the Aldous novel: that must be avoided. But ideas are sticky things: won’t coalesce: hold up the creative, subconscious faculty; that’s it I suppose. I’ve written the chophouse scene I don’t know how many times.
