Yesterday I came on duty at the Bastion. Have done nothing at all the whole time, but have passed it pleasantly. Nothing has resulted from Pelagdya, Ilinishna's letter. Probably that is all for the best. I have sent off Sevastopol and received my things. I will finish A Cadet's Notes in a day or two.
